Super Curriculum

Super curriculum is independent learning which extends the taught subject curriculum.  Staff will provide students with a minimum of 10 scholarly articles for students to read during form time in addition to provide opportunities or resources on a weekly basis.  Super curriculum can be created from a series of platforms including but not limited to:

  • Scholarly articles
  • Podcasts
  • Documentaries
  • Ted talks
  • Visits to places, such as museum or battlefield

Super curriculum is essential for university applications and interviews.  The admissions teams are looking for the most enthusiastic students with a passion for the course they are applying for.  The first part of the evidence for this is the engagement with super curriculum.

The EPQ is an excellent way of engaging in super curriculum in a manner which will also support students in getting extra UCAS points.  The library holds a range of super curriculum texts and each department will supply a super curriculum reading list to also help students to get started.
