Enrichment

There is more to a school experience than subject courses alone. At St. Joseph’s, we pride ourselves on the range of enrichments that sixth form students can engage in.
Weekly Enrichment
For one lesson per week, students select an enrichment. Some of these are just for fun and others can lead to an additional qualification.
Those that are just for fun change with each 13 week cycle. These include functional Spanish, first aid, MOOCs and sports.
We also offer enrichment which can either give students more UCAS points or a certificated course. Students will engage in this for the full year and sometimes across both years. These include Level 3 core maths, Extended Project Qualification, Arts Gold Award, Science Gold Crest Award, Sports Leaders, John Paul II Award.
Additional Enrichments
Further to the weekly enrichments, students are given the opportunity to partake in a range of additional activities. If students are eligible for bursary, then they can be supported with any related costs. Our current additional enrichments include:
- Football team
- Basketball team – NEW for 2025
- Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award
- Trip to Morocco
- Trip to London
